  • This house is located at Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, which well-known as Khaoyai. The site of 200 square wah, rectangular plot is subtended by mountain range. Very high range of temperature and climates occurs here all year long, very hot during daytime, whilst very cold and windy during nighttime.

    (un)-Split HOUSE is the name of this project. Its name was derived from main characteristics of the house which came from the climate concern and owner’s lifestyle. The owner of this house is a middle-aged women, with her family, who wants to spend the rest of her life after retirement. During the time before that, it will be used as an occasional home for her leisure, especially a space for meditation is required for this house.

    Massing design was initially from a compact space with simple gable roof to serve all function needs, as well as preventing heat from direct sunlight. It was split into two blocks and shift to create shades to the house itself. Additional elements was also added for an aesthetics and climate concern.
